PM3 - Top down Planning. Goal Directed Project Management
Top-down planning and control - Goal Directed Project Management (GDPM)*
PM3 supports top-down milestone planning, tracking and responsibility charting, rather than a myriad of activities. Key project milestones can be ‘promoted’ so that Senior Management stays focused on the Big Picture and is not distracted by the ‘noise’ of detailed lower level milestones/activities.
Some clients use PM3 to manage their plans and others use MS Project for more detailed activity planning. PM3 synchronises with MS Project.
The project/programme plan is very visual. An example project plan produced using PM3 is shown below. The red line indicates today’s date and all milestones that are not complete by this date are coloured RED. Milestones that are due for completion within a week are coloured amber.
Dependencies can be created within a plan or between any plans in the system.
*PM3 supports Goal Directed Project Management (GPDM), a project management method developed by Erling S Andersen, Kristoffer V Grude and Tor Haug.
We run GDPM planning workshops and training courses. Click here For more information on GDPM training
