PM3 Retail is specifically designed for the Retail market

Retail outlets or stores are often significant businesses in their own right; some take over £1million a week. Increasingly Store operations have to manage and plan the many initiatives and projects that are being implemented in stores. It is essential that these implementations or projects do not interrupt the smooth operation of a store. Stores can only manage a certain amount of change in a period of time. If the level of change becomes too high, then store performance including sales suffers. PM3 ensures the level of change to stores is matched to their capacity to absorb change, preventing the situation where too much change is attempted and store performance suffers. PM3 displays by store and by shape of chain the projects affecting a store or a region; it also shows the impact that each particular project has on a store. For example, a POS roll-out will have a major impact on stores whereas a change to a back-office system would have less impact.

PM3 Retail also enables roll-out plans to be created that can be rolled out across the entire store network or any combination of stores. 

PM3 Retail enables the store manager to see the activity planned in his or her store and update the milestones that have been assigned to the store manager. This enables the head office or programme team to check that the milestones are being met by store staff.

 

Store Operations and retail management can then use PM3 to run a ‘clash test’  that shows whether project implementations overlap or if they clash with a retail sensitive period, e.g. Valentines day.

PM3 for Retail enables store implementation plans to be generated automatically by shape of chain and/or by geography. Each project uses PM3 to generate their own implementation plans into stores. Store Operations can then see how much change is being asked of a particular store or region or type of store. If projects overlap or are being implemented in a crucial period, e.g. Easter, valentines, etc, PM3 can be used to smooth out these implementation plans to ensure that retail outlets are not disrupted.

PM3 can also be used to balance the engineering capacity with a given roll-out plan to ensure that the optimum resourced roll-out plan is developed.
